I have been a lifelong cyclist, and currently provide motivation and strategies as a senior fitness specialist, advocating for strong, capable living after 50. My journey with movement began in childhood (link) and has continued mostly uninterrupted for decades, evolving from youthful freedom into disciplined practice. With a degree in Biological Chemistry and more than 35 years in the dietary supplement industry, I have spent my professional life studying how the body adapts, performs, and sustains resilience over time. My experience spans sales, marketing, technical formulation, and regulatory compliance, giving me a broad and practical understanding of what truly supports long-term health.
But knowledge alone does not define his perspective.
For more than 17 years, I have also served as a full-time caregiver following my spouse’s multiple cardiac arrests. That chapter reshaped my understanding of endurance in ways no classroom or certification could. Caregiving demands patience, steadiness, and emotional strength — the kind built quietly, day after day. During this time (+17 years), movement became more than exercise. It became clarity; stability. A reminder that forward motion is still possible even when life narrows unexpectedly.
Professionally, I hold NASM certifications in Personal Training and Corrective Exercise and have earned additional credentials in senior fitness and group instruction. I am also the founder and owner of solidtothecore.com, a site dedicated to providing leading-edge advice and training for seniors. I teach advanced-standing senior fitness and indoor cycling classes in St. Petersburg, Florida, working directly with older adults and (yes, some younger folks) who want to remain independent and active. At 72, I continue to live what I teach: consistent movement, intelligent progression, and a disciplined yet positive mindset. I do not promote extremes or quick fixes. I stress durability.

Building a Strong Foundation for Longevity
For me, fitness isn’t about proving anything. It is about preserving strength, protecting independence, and maintaining capability for the long road ahead.
Bicycle High was created as a natural extension of that philosophy. It is a space dedicated to adults over 50 who still want to move forward — physically, mentally, and purposefully. The site blends science, lived experience, and steady guidance to help riders stay strong, mobile, and self-reliant. This isn’t about chasing youth or competing with the clock. It’s about building durability, maintaining balance, and approaching aging with intention.
Bicycle High exists for those who understand that strength after 50 is cultivated. For those who believe movement remains one of life’s most powerful tools. And for those willing to keep pedaling — not to relive the past, but to protect the future.
Stay capable. Stay moving. B Positive.
